There are those who open their hearts to others…who never think twice about giving of themselves. They are the wonderful warmhearted people who make all the difference in our lives.” —Gilda Radner

      Why Volunteer at Gilda’s Club?
“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.”
                                                                                                                                --Henri Nouwen
These words epitomize the very nature of a Gilda’s Club volunteer. Volunteering is much more than just a job. It’s an opportunity to meet friends, learn new skills and put existing ones to good use.  It’s a chance to be part of a team that makes a genuine difference in the lives of people who are living with cancer.

We value our volunteers as partners and by giving us the gift of your time or resources you can demonstrate your values, honour those in your own life who have been affected by cancer, and know that you are helping people in your own community in a real and practical way.
Here are just a few examples of the benefits of volunteering:
