Mission and Vision
THE MISSION

The mission of Gilda’s Club is to create welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer – men, women, teens and children – along with their families and friends. Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities. Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka serves all of Simcoe County, Muskoka-Parry Sound and area, Grey-Bruce and Dufferin Counties.
Gilda’s Club provides:
- A warm and welcoming meeting place free of charge where children, teens/young adults, men and women with cancer, their families, friends gather informally and "be" in a community of others who are facing cancer.
- Support by trained professionals and volunteers.
- A place for people to learn to live with cancer no matter the outcome through lectures, workshops, social activities and support and networking groups in a non-residential, home-like setting
THE VISION
The Gilda's Club philosophy of providing an emotional and social support community as an essential complement to medical care for people and families living with cancer will serve as a beacon for the development of health and human services in the 21st century.
Gilda's Club will be an international leader in advancing understanding of the essential bond of emotional and social support to the cancer experience, not only for those living with cancer, but also for the families and friends who surround them
